PR: LE SOCIAL ANNOUNCES SPRING AND SUMMER PROGRAMME OF COLLABORATIVE EVENTS CELEBRATING ART, MUSIC, FOOD AND WINE

Le Social reveals part one of LE SOCIAL & FRIENDS Spring and Summer programme - a series of events celebrating Manchester and its thriving community, teaming up with local artists to present the finest art, sounds, food and wine.

More than a wine bar and shop, Le Social is a community. One that champions Manchester’s rich independent scene of creative and Food & Drink ventures. LE SOCIAL & FRIENDS will present everything from exhibitions to workshops, parties to wine tastings, plus pop-ups and supper clubs. Running across April – August, the events will predominantly take place from their Pollard Yard home, with a few takeovers and pop ups around Greater Manchester thrown in the mix too.

Announced earlier this year, Manchester’s most intimate wine bar will continue to serve their menu of rotating natural and premium wines by the glass and Mediterranean plates every Saturday. Sunny days will see the bar expanding outside on Pollard Yard’s sun-kissed terrasse. Bookings are mandatory as space is limited. A chance to try some of the new seasonal bottles that are constantly filling the shelves, all available to take home at retail price or from the  online webshop.

From April 30st Le Social’s cosy shipping container will also become home to Caroline Dowsett and Ben Vulliamy’s debut collaborative exhibition MOTHER. An ode to Mother Earth through a curated a series of original pieces and limited edition prints in the form of risographs, print and textiles.

The launch coincides with international Earth Day, and to celebrate, everyone is invited to the opening party which kicks off at 6pm on the Friday. Entry is £5 inclusive of an arrival drink from Le Social’s impeccable wine selection. The exhibition will be open until May 8th, entry is free but bookings are mandatory - you can book here now. There will also be an opportunity to purchase the artwork, with 20% of all profits going to World Wildlife Fund.

On Thursday April 28th, join Caroline Dowsett and Ben Vulliamy for an evening of wine and food surrounded by the artworks of their MOTHER Exhibition. The evening offers guests the opportunity to get to know the artists and understand the artworks while tasting some beautiful wines. Tickets are £35, inclusive of the wine tasting experience and snacks.

The following evening, Friday 29th April will see Le Social takeover NQ favourite Common for a bank holiday special. An inclusive party for all, no knobs no snobs, where you can just turn up as you are! From 8pm till 1am, Founder Jerome will be setting up camp to keep your wine glasses filled with the Le Social’s selection of thirst-quenching wine bangers. Peter Petroff of CHIC and rising local DJ Róisín will be on the decks, spinning house, techno, funk, disco and more. Entry is free, more details can be found here. Simply show up and be ready for pizza, wine and a good old boogie.

Every first Thursday of the month Le Social dedicates to hosting a Wine Tasting Night. So in keeping with tradition, Thursday 5th May, founder and wine connoisseur Jerome will be presenting his latest wine discoveries and new exciting producers. Tickets are £35 per head inclusive of food to accompany the wines. Capacity is limited as they keep things cosy and intimate! Book here now.

A design workshop with Studio Taitt will also take place in May, with more details to be revealed very soon, and more workshops are in the pipeline throughout the summer. Collaborative Supper Clubs and Parties with the likes of Feel Good Club, Butcher’s Quarter, KIOSK on Lapwing and General Store’s Foodhall will be announced in the coming weeks with first round of tickets offered to Le Social’s weekly newsletter subscribers.

Part two of LE SOCIAL & FRIENDS will see even more collabs, parties and events, culminating with Le Social’s second Birthday in August.

On LE SOCIAL & FRIENDS, Founder Jérôme Boullier said:
At its core Le Social is a community, we are as much a lifestyle brand as wine experts. From the beginning, social consciousness has dictated which wine producers we work with, and now we want to champion the same ethos through collaborations and in-person experiences to continue to expand our community through our love for art, music and culture. We’re blessed with a thriving creative scene here in Manchester, and so LE SOCIAL & FRIENDS is an opportunity for us to create something really special with all the incredibly talented people we are surrounded by.”
