City Break Subscription Box: Barcelona
Our new City Break Subscription Box is an invitation to travel to the cities we love, and a glimpse of the place and its people. We hope it can help you discover the region through new eyes - and tastebuds - and recreate that thrilling, laidback holiday feeling with friends and family.
Each comes with bottles and snacks inspired by the local food and drink culture, packed together with tasting notes and product information, plus our very own tips and recommendations on how to enjoy them best, and where to go for when you do visit the city and region.
For our first City Break, we are sailing off to Barcelona, Catalonia. The city enjoys a global reputation for fine dining, exceptional wines and its unique, well, Catalonian lifestyle and culture. This month subscription box includes:
- Gaia, Sauvignon Blanc - Loxarel. Our friend Josep Mitjans produced this incredible wine using clay amphoras, a chestnut barrel and a steel tank. He's based in Penedès, a short drive South West of the city.
- Vermouth Padró & Co. Rojo Clásico. The vermouth culture is still very much alive in the Catalonian capital, with contemporary vermuteria reviving this under-rated drink. Whether you like it on the rock or as part of a late night cocktail, there is little escaping from it.
-Barcelona Blonde, Beercat. Martina Molloy and Peter Bonner founded the brewery in Vilafranca del Penedès in 2013 with the help of Manchester's legendary brewer James Campbell. They brought English and Irish brewing to the region while embracing its local ingredients and folklore.
-Perello Olives - anytime, anywhere, olives are more than an aperitif sidekick, it's an essential social and cultural element part of the everyday life of millions of peoples across the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
June subscribers will enjoy a 10% discount for as long as their subscription runs.
Next month: July, Marseilles!
