Cariño, Mas des Agrunelles
Started in 2005 by by Frédéric Porro and Stéphanie Ponso. This 25ha estate is situated on the Terrace du Larzac, North-West of Montpellier. They shun the usual style shown here in favour of delicate wines with subtle extractions. The estate name comes from all the wild sloe trees around the vineyards and sloe is ‘Agrunelles’ in old Occitan. Biodynamic methods are used in the vineyard with processes like pruning and harvest being matched to the lunar calendar.

Viticulture & Winemaking Organic and Biodynamic viticulture. Hand-harvested, Whole bunch maceration and aged in concrete eggs for 7or 8 months. No fining, no filtration and minimal S02.
