Champagne Brut Origine, Tribaut-Schloesser
A family house since 1929, CHAMPAGNE TRIBAUT-SCHLOESSER have transformed the way they farm their own vineyards and progressively switched to organic agriculture. They own 40hectares of south and south east facing vines around Romery, Cormoyeux and Fleury la Rivière, against the Montagne de Reims. The rest of the grapes come from like-minded growers in Grand Cru and Premier crus in Aÿ, Ecueil, Damery and the Vallée de La Marne.
In the cellar, both large foudre barrels and smaller barriques are used for their reserve wines, perpetuating a house style refined in the 1980s. Valentin and his brother Sebastien are now in charge and represent the fourth generation of Champagne growers. Their wines have received some of the most prestigious medals and prizes around the world, and top marks from world-class writers inc. Jancis Robinson.
Viticulture & Winemaking Organic practises. Hand-harvested, followed by traditional method inc. 10% of reserve wine. Aged for 30months on lees prior to being disgorged. Dosage 8g/L.
