Zweigelt, Weingut Schmelzer
Based around the beautiful lake Neusiedler in the Burgenland region of Austria you will find Georg Schmelzer of Weingut Schmelzer. Using a range of vineyard sites in Gols they have a host of aspects and climates to play with. Here they use biodynamic methods to nourish the vines through the natural life cycle. This holistic approach aims to maximise soil fertility through a mix of herbal teas and homemade fertilizers. Being the 4th generation to be involved in viticulture sustainability is important to Georg, and he hopes to leave the land for the families future winemakers.

Viticulture & Winemaking Biodynamic - Demeter certified. Hand-harvested grapes go through fermentation with indigenous yeasts. It is then matured on the lee's for 12months in large 2500l barrels. Finished unfiltered with no added S02.
